Today, explore Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve on a full-day adventure by Motor-coach. This is one of the world’s best places to see major colonies of nesting seabirds and the continent's third largest gannet colony. Adult gannets are magnificent – snowy white with a black-tipped wingspan of nearly 6 feet! Watch them on the spectacular sea cliffs and look for whales below. You may also see moose and caribou as a knowledgeable local host guides you through this stunning Newfoundland reserve. Lunch and a berry wine tasting are included. Return to the hotel in St. John’s in late afternoon. Later, join your fellow explorers for a welcome dinner.

This morning, you will take a charter flight to Ile Saint Pierre, France. Set foot on the French soil of Ile Saint-Pierre, one of an 8-island archipelago that is the only remaining remnant of France’s former colonial empire. Named after St. Peter (patron of fishermen), the island’s economy still relies on fishing and crabbing. Explore the community of Saint-Pierre on a guided tour and enjoy tales of Al Capone, prohibition and shipwrecks. Visit the new Musée Héritage with 19th and 20th-century artifacts. Also tour the scenic coastline and countryside, pausing at a whale-watching lookout and French-style graveyard.
