Ambassador Richard Tallboys
In the 26 years of his diplomatic career, Ambassador Tallboys held important representational posts for both Australia and the United Kingdom across six continents including five Asian countries. In addition to his appointment as British Ambassador to Vietnam from 1985 to 1987, he represented Britain as “Deputy Head of Mission” in Cambodia 1972-73 and in South Korea 1976-80. Prior to embarking on his diplomatic career, Tallboys spent eight years at sea, making seven voyages around the world by the time he was 20. He received two decorations from Queen Elizabeth following diplomatic service in Asia.
