Begin in Anchorage where you can explore Alaska's biggest city. Between Anchorage and Fairbanks, 360 miles to the north, the Parks Highway and the parallel Alaska Railroad line provide access to an astounding panorama of Alaska's Interior wilderness. You'll travel comfortably by motorcoach to the mountain-climbing base of Talkeetna, where you'll switch to a deluxe domed railcar, to travel in style across Hurricane Gulch and Broad Pass toward the Alaska Rand and Denali National Park proper. From there you'll continue on to the supreme highlight of your trip - your Denali National Park Tour.
Heritage and Culture in Anchorage
The deluxe Sheraton Hotel in Anchorage is your home base to explore Alaska's biggest city, which offers myriad travel adventures. It is the starting point for the annual Iditarod Sled Dog Race. Mt. McKinley, which is 130 miles north, can be seen from here on clear days. Anchorage also abounds in restaurants, theaters and museums to explore. In fact, part of your included experience in Anchorage is a Dine-Around featuring five of Anchorage's best restaurants and a tour of the Alaska Museum of History and Art.
Your Denali Experience
At Denali, stay at a comfortable hotel surrounded by forest not far from Denali Park's bustling entrance area. This is your base to enjoy optional tours such as flightseeing and river rafting, rollicking evening activities. We've created the most flexible tour options in Denali- where you may choose one of three included tours- the Denali Park Tundra Wilderness Tour, Denali History Tour or full-day Kantishna end of the road tour. The many hundreds of square miles of Denali National Park preserve one of the largest completely intact ecosystems on earth. There are opportunities on these tours, to seek the great mammals which abound here: grizzly bears, caribou, moose, and Dall sheep, among others. Travel to Denali Park by motorcoach and deluxe domed railcar. Your motorcoach is limited to just 30 travelers allowing for plenty of legroom and window viewing (others hold as many as 53).
