CRUISE WEST TO BE FEATURED ON THE TRAVEL CHANNEL
November 29, 2006
Small-Ship Cruise Line Provides a “Trip of a Lifetime”
SEATTLE, WA, November 29, 2006 – Cruise West, the largest American-owned cruise line and leader in small-ship cruising to Alaska, will be featured on the Travel Channel’s new show, “Trip of a Lifetime” on Thursday, November 30 at 10 p.m.* This past August, Cruise West hosted the show’s crew and special guests, Alonna Johnson and her sister Lindsay, on an up-close, casual and personal cruise through the Inside Passage. The production company working on this show chose Cruise West for their renowned reputation in traveling Alaska.
“We are thrilled to have been chosen for this feature and provide Alonna and Lindsay with the type of dream vacation that all of our guests experience when traveling the incredible land of Alaska,” said Chairman and Managing Director Dick West. “It is exciting that viewers across the country will also get to be a part of this journey through their eyes.”
“Trip of a Lifetime” is a new program on the Travel Channel that brings deserving individuals on a different dream vacation each episode. The teams producing “Trip of a Lifetime” found Alonna and Lindsay the perfect hosts for this journey. As someone who is entirely devoted to the protection of animals and natural resources, Alonna was a deserving candidate to visit Alaska, a wildlife haven and home to endless natural wonders. Knowing that Alonna had always dreamed of traveling to Alaska but would never be as self-indulgent as to apply for the show herself, her husband, Chris, decided to nominate her.
The Travel Channel reaches an average of 37 million households in a month, with 20 million households during the primetime hours.
