Under the Travel Protection Plan provisions, you're covered even if you must cancel or interrupt your trip due to a Pre-Existing Condition if you purchase the plan within seven (7) days of your initial deposit/payment for your cruise and you are not disabled from travel at the time you make your plan payment. When you purchase the Cruise West Peace of Mind Plan and must cancel your cruise before your scheduled departure for any reason not covered by the Travel Protection Plan provisions, you will receive a Cruise West Travel Certificate* for the penalty amount with the balance of the refund, if due, made by either check or credit card credit. Please note: The Cruise West Peace of Mind Plan does not cover penalties associated with air arrangements or other travel services not provided by Cruise West. Certain exclusions and limitations apply to the insurance benefits. *Cruise West Travel Certificates are non-transferable, not redeemable for cash and may be applied to any Cruise West departure within one year of the date the issuance of the certificate.
Outlined below are the major benefits of the travel protection plan. A "Description of Coverage" brochure which provides complete details of the plan, including conditions, exclusions and limitations, will be included with your travel documents and is also available upon request at any time prior to your purchase of the plan. Conditions and LimitationsCertain Exclusions and Limitations apply and are detailed in the Certificate of Coverage, for example, coverage does not apply to any sickness or condition that existed during the sixty (60) days prior to the effective date of this coverage (this exclusion will be waived if your plan payment is received within seven(7) days of your initial deposit/payment for your cruise and you are not already disabled from travel at the time your plan payment is received), suicide, normal pregnancy, war or any act of war, mental or nervous disorders. Other Covered Events, as defined, include the following events or their consequences: cancellation of arrangements by an airline due to strike or bad weather; a documented traffic accident while en route to departure; jury duty; destruction of your residence by a natural disaster; or a documented theft of passports or visas. A Traveling Companion is defined as a person booked to share accommodations in the same cabin with you during your cruise. Sickness or injury must require the care by a physician, and must commence while the plan is in effect for you. This plan does not cover a loss that results from an illness, disease, or other condition (of you, an Immediate Family Member, Traveling Companion or Business Partner), event or circumstance which occurs at the time when this plan is not in effect for you. Part B of this plan is underwritten by: Stonebridge Casualty Insurance Company, Columbus, OH. All Inquiries & Claims should be reported to the Plan Administrator: Trip Mate (in CA, dba Trip Mate Insurance Agency), 9225 Ward Parkway, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64114, 800-888-7292. If your Pre-Departure Trip Cancellation claim is not covered by the Travel Protection Plan Provisions, Trip Mate will advise you and forward your claim to Cruise West for review and applicable reimbursement will be made according to the Cancellation Waiver terms described above. Remember, your cancellation penalty will be reimbursed in Cruise West Travel Certificates. Payment for Peace of Mind plan is NOT REFUNDABLE or TRANSFERABLE under any circumstances. |
